Japanese printmaker Konan Tanigami illustrated western flowering plants in a multi-volume series of books published by Unsodo in Tokyo, 1917, as Seiyo kusabana zufu (A Picture Album of Western Plants and Flowers). Galison worked with the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation at Carnegie Mellon University to create this Seasons in Bloom keepsake box of note cards.
Four cards each of four different realistic floral illustrations: Lychnis coronaria (Cytisus or Common Broom) and Cychinis; Poppies, Chrysanthemums, and unidentified orange flowers.
The sturdy decorative box holds cards and envelopes neatly, and when the cards have been sent, it's great for storing all sorts of little things--from extra buttons to pearls. 16 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" note cards
4 cards each of 4 images
17 buff-colored envelopes
Sturdy decorative box with hinged lid and magnetic closure
Box measures 5 x 6 x 1-1/4"
Interesting information about the artwork on the cards is printed on the inside lid of the box.
